35 years since the fall of the Berlin wall: Celebration of freedom

There are memories and then there are CORE memories. And to experience the spirit of freedom, sharing a huge moment with people directly connected to the fall of the wall, beyond doubt puts it in the latter category.

A couple of months ago I joined the Rockin’ 1000 community, but most of the big shows were pretty far from where I live. I was waiting for something in Europe that I could do, and boy was I happy to see that something huge was coming up in Berlin. The culture project of Berlin chose Rockin’ 1000 to be ambassadors for the most significant piece of history of this city, and one of the most significant ones in the world.

700 of us came to Berlin and after a full rehearsal day in the Uber Arena (which in itself was amazing), we were ready for an experience we’ll remember forever. The unity we all felt on stage and the connection to the audience was something I never experienced before. People were crying, the repertoire was firing songs that were in tone with the message we were trying to send.

I feel incredibly proud that with all these amazing people I was able to give my contribution to a special night, and at least in a small way connect to an important part of this magnificent city.
