About Me

Hello, everybody. My name is Marko Čapljić, but please be a friend and call me Max, like everyone else does. 🙂

I discovered my passion for music at an early age, but I took my first big steps in singing during my teenage years. I tried to play the guitar, but that didn’t go well for me, so I completely focused on singing and joined my first (metal) band in 2002. Sharing this experience with my friends and performing for people became an addiction that I still have to this day. Music offered me this new world worth exploring, and I wanted to try as much of it as possible. That’s why over the years, I sang in various bands that played different genres – from tribute bands (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jamiroquai, Muse…) to those that performed their own music (Broken Strings, NightFall…). I just said yes to everything, and I loved it.

During that time, I performed live in front of audiences numbering in the thousands, toured around Serbia and the Balkans with different bands, won a prestigious band competition, Zaječarska Gitarijada, and published an album. But what took my love for music to the next level was joining the Viva Vox choir in 2010. This group of remarkable people, with their passion and voices, created something that left a mark on Serbian culture and also provided once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, such as a concert at the United Nations in New York and The Great Hall of the People in Beijing in 2013, or our solo concert in Belgrade where 10,000 people came to see us.

As life moved on, I decided to try something new and gave the Belgrade party band scene a chance. This experience introduced me to some of the best musicians Serbia has to offer, reunited me with old friends, and helped me make many new ones. This path led me to work for a cruise ship company, AIDA, where I spent two amazing years. Upon returning to Serbia, I joined an awesome band, Euterpa, with whom I published three singles. Aside from that, I also got an opportunity to sing in the Serbian version of the movie Lion King, which made another one of my dreams come true.

Now I live in Germany, where I am starting my new journey. It’s been very slow thanks to Covid, but performing with different projects and solo as Max Nero, I am finding my way through. Working on my own music is the missing piece of the puzzle I was looking for, and I can’t wait to see where all this takes me next.
